Dr. Bahar Rahnama is the founder of Doctor B Therapy and a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of California specializing in childhood mental health disorders and positive parenting approaches.

Dr. Rahnama specializes in treating childhood mental health conditions including anxiety disorders, selective mutism, oppositional defiant disorder, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. Her experience with survivors of child abuse and foster youth has influenced her therapeutic approach through a trauma-informed lens and a belief that even the smallest of fractures can influence the trajectory of one’s mental health functioning.
Dr. Rahnama is a certified Parent-Child Interaction Therapist (PCIT) through PCIT International and recognized by UC Davis to have completed all competencies for PCIT. Dr. Rahnama is undergoing in-house PCIT training to train supervisees in the modality and broaden the accessibility of treatment to families struggling with childhood oppositionality and difficult caregiver-child dynamics.
Dr. Rahnama is also trained and proficient in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), PCIT for selective mutism (PCIT-SM), and PCIT-CALM for anxiety disorders in early childhood.
Dr. Rahnama received her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in Psychology and her Doctor of Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) degree from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University (CSPP-LA). She completed her APA-approved internship at the Violence Intervention Program Community Mental Health Disorder in Boyle Heights, California. She conducted critical same-day assessments at LAC-USC hospital and treated patients diagnosed with fetal-alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and mood and anxiety disorders.
